Mustard Crusted Salmon

My absolute favorite way to eat salmon. It’s still pretty healthy. It’s easy. And it’s delicious. Salmon may be rather on the expensive side, but I think you could make this work with other heavier fish as well. The mustard sauce is delicious on many different things, like veggies, and is quick to whip up. Apologies for the lack of photos…we gobbled it right up!

Ingredients (4 servings)

1 1/4 lb center-cut salmon fillets, cut into 4 portions

Salt & Pepper to taste

1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream

2 tbsp stone-ground mustard (like Dijon, yum!)

2 tsp lemon juice


  • Preheat broiler. Line baking sheet with foil and coat with oil or cooking spray.
  • Place salmon pieces, skin side down, on the prepared pan. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Combine sour cream, mustard, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Spread evenly over the salmon. (This actually makes a bit too much for the fish, so save some for your side veggie – it’s amazing on asparagus!)
  • Broil the salmon 5 inches from the heat source until opaque in the center, 10 – 12 minutes.
  • I served this over brown rice that had been seasoned with lemon juice, salt, and pepper with asparagus and the remaining mustard sauce.
  • Perfect midweek dinner at home!
